Baden has always been at the heart of Austria’s cultural life. Its most famous visitors were famous composers and authors like Mozart, Beethoven, Johann Strauss, Grillparzer, Raimund, Nestroy, and Schnitzler.

In the summer, concerts in the spa park or the operetta festival can be visited, and in the winter Baden's theatre, alternative art and youth culture in the "Theater am Steg" can be enjoyed.

Baden's museums and collections are dedicated to historical as well as modern visual arts. The "Arnulf Rainer" museum is currently being built as an international centre for modern art.
