(5) ECTS credits

The PH NÖ uses the “European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System” (= ECTS credits) as a student-centred system.

The basis is the workload that students have to complete in order to achieve the objectives of a learning programme. These objectives are preferably defined in terms of learning outcomes and skills to be acquired.

One ECTS credit point (= ECTS-CP) corresponds to a workload of 25 full working hours. The work to be performed by the students for the ECTS-CP listed in each case comprises both the course time and all those performances that have to be performed outside the course – including any exam preparations.

The PH NÖ observes the principles laid down in the ECTS Guidelines and ensures that the ECTS-CP is fully implemented as a common guarantee instrument for the quality of mobility activities as well as the transparency of recognition procedures.

Course credits for the various Course unitswhich PH NÖ students have completed abroad are awarded according to the basic ECTS principle.

The basic annual unit for credits in the ECTS system comprises 60 ECTS-CP for one year of study and 30 for a semester.
