Erasmus+ programme overview

The European Union's Erasmus+ education programme will integrate the areas of higher education, vocational education and training, adult education, school education, youth and sport during its term from 2021 to 2027.

Goals

  • Erasmus+ supports the objectives of the European education agendas, the modernisation, internationalisation and qualitative improvement of the higher education sector in Europe.
  • The international competences, personal development and employability of students are strengthened.
  • The comprehensive recognition of study and examination achievements acquired abroad ensures that students can complete their studies at a foreign university without having to accept an extension of the duration of their studies and additional costs
  • In addition to the automatic mutual recognition of academic achievements, the new Erasmus+ programme generation (2021-2027) also focuses on the topics of digitalisation, sustainability, inclusion and civic engagement.
  • The Erasmus+ programmes promote staff development in terms of internationalisation and strengthening intercultural skills.
