Worth Knowing

  • By studying abroad, students can improve their communication skills, language skills and intercultural competences and acquire social skills.
  • Students can also combine their study visit abroad with an internship to gain work experience.
  • An online language assessment is required when registering for mobility.  The Erasmus+ online language support can help to improve the language used in the respective study programme.
  • Students with disabilities can apply for additional funding.

Sustainability

The aim of the Erasmus+ programme is not only to raise participants' awareness of sustainability, climate change and environmental protection, but also to reduce the ecological footprint generated by mobility abroad.

In order to encourage students to choose a resource-saving method of travelling, a green top-up for sustainable travel of EUR 50.00 is paid out in addition to the regular Erasmus+ grant for Erasmus+-funded internships abroad.

The prerequisite for this is that participants use a low-emission means of transport classified as sustainable by the Erasmus+ programme for the journey to their host country and/or their return journey (at least 50% of the outward and/or return journey). In addition, the funding period of the regular Erasmus+ grant can be extended by up to four days if participants can prove that they need more time for their outward and/or return journey due to the use of a sustainable means of transport.
