Growing scientific evidence points to the importance and significance of movement, especially movement experiences with all senses, in childhood. Because movement actions involve not only motor skills but also biopsychosocial aspects, movement should be understood at the cognitive, affective, and social levels.

Students learn to recognise existing relationships between selected sports science disciplines, to grasp these in their holistic nature, and to be able to establish cross-sectional connections to other subject areas.

In this context, students acquire anthropological, sport-motor, subject-specific, and subject-didactic basic knowledge. They link the resulting sport pedagogical abilities to act in the practical field of school in the context of health-promoting learning environments in inclusive settings.
