The proportion of subject didactics in primary level education and didactics (130 ECTS-CP) is 35 ECTS-CP without specialisation.

Interreligious skills are explicitly acquired in the courses “Children learn in an equal opportunities school”, “Children experience learning in community”, and “Children live in peace” as well as integratively in the module “Diversity”.

Legal foundations are anchored in an integrative way. They are expanded and deepened within the framework of the Master’s programme.

The following applies to the free elective subject “Making school an experience for children” (5 ECTS-CP): It enables students to individually consolidate their knowledge and expand their abilities in a subject area of their choice that is relevant to their professional field.
For this purpose, courses can be chosen from the offer of the PH NÖ or other post-secondary or tertiary educational institutions.
Quality assurance restriction:

  • In the case of credit transfer, a workload of 5 ECTS-CP is based on three semester hours per week regardless of the actual attendance.
  • A content-related assignment to the educational sciences is a prerequisite.
  • Courses offered by the Summer School and the Summer Academy of the PH NÖ can be credited for the course “Children need community” (PPS, 6th semester) if the practical part is at least 3 ECTS-CP.
