Aim
Sensory perceptions, especially hearing and seeing, and perceptual processing play a significant role in learning processes. Based on complex learning biographies, the students deal with components of child development in the context of perceptual processes and related social–emotional opportunities and challenges in heterogeneous learning communities. Current research findings offer a diversity-oriented view of learning potentials and barriers (e.g. in the area of communication support).
Content
- Complex learning biographies and intersectionality
- Development as an unconditional claim to the educational process - Components of development
- Identification and analysis of sensory perceptual abilities (especially hearing and seeing) as well as of perceptual processing with a view to potentials for learning
- Diversity-oriented research perspectives of learning and development in the field of perception
- (Written) language and communication systems as a resource and/or barrier in the context of sensory perceptual abilities
- Social–emotional contexts: Opportunities and challenges on an individual and group dynamic level

The graduates ...
- can reconstruct complex learning biographies and intersectionality and discuss them in a perception-oriented and resource-focused manner
- are able to recognise the heterogeneity of pupils in a diversity-oriented way and to describe individual developmental trajectories in technical language
- are able to identify and analyse sensory perceptual abilities, especially hearing and seeing, as well as perceptual processing and to use them in a potential-oriented way for teaching–learning arrangements
- are able to reflect on and analyse research results with regard to the support of teaching–learning and development processes and can establish action-guiding connections to the heterogeneous school field from this
- can independently and collaboratively research and present specialist literature with a focus on perceptual processes for individual tasks in their future profession
- are able to make a solution-oriented selection from a repertoire of (written) language and communication systems and integrate them as a justified resource in the educational process
- are able to expand didactic knowledge for the design of accessible learning spaces and scenarios with regard to hearing and seeing in particular
- can describe and analyse individual and group dynamic opportunities and challenges in the context of complex learning biographies resulting from social–emotional developmental trajectories in the context of perception and outline preventive accompanying processes.
