Practical pedagogical studies (PPS)
Aim
As part of this course, further professionalization of pedagogical-practical action takes place. The students see their profession as dynamic, interdisciplinary and constantly evolving. They are willing to continually reflect on their understanding of their roles, their personal development and their skills. Furthermore, the examination of subject areas typical of the profession as well as their own professional awareness should enable the students to act in a quality-oriented manner.

- Planning, implementation and evaluation of subject-specific, subject-didactically and pedagogically sound lessons
- Pedagogical diagnostics
- Pedagogical professionalism and expertise
- Individualization and differentiation in educational-practical settings based on individual learning starting points
- Importance of social relationships and individual learning processes
- Expansion and deepening of the subject areas of teaching, learning, instruction, education and educationally relevant interactions that are typical for the profession

- Design, moderate and evaluate lessons against the background of current findings (digitality, diversity, individualized and differentiated).
- Develop a pedagogical-professional self-image in the primary school subject area and work continuously on their professionalization through personal focus.
- Apply and reflect on concepts and procedures of performance assessment, pedagogical diagnostics and individual support.
- Develop their pedagogical-practical work in a process- and goal-oriented manner.
- Develop, apply and justify innovative approaches to action (e.g. for QMS) independently and in a team (lesson study).
- Design social action with empathy, appreciation and respect.
- Understand and argue for profession-specific tasks and areas of responsibility specified by the employer and recognize and justify their limits.
- Understand and correctly interpret current findings from national and international school, teaching and educational research and, if necessary, implement them in the professional field of action.
