Participate. Marvel. Discover.

Under the motto ‘Participate. Marvel. Discover.’, the Lange Nacht der Forschung invites you to actively explore science.

The Lange Nacht der Forschung (LNF) is Austria's largest event dedicated to science, research and innovation. It has been held every two years throughout Austria since 2005 and offers free admission, allowing visitors not only to learn about research, but also to be right in the thick of it – engaging in direct exchange, trying things out and thinking along with the experts. Be there when science comes to life!

With over 2,000 programme items such as guided tours, workshops, lectures, live presentations and experiments, the event offers visitors of all ages a wide range of opportunities to get involved. Science is presented in a tangible, understandable and everyday way, creating space for curiosity, exchange and new perspectives.

Learn in a practical setting

The University College of Teacher Education Lower Austria (PH NÖ) is participating in the Long Night of Research and invites you to experience learning differently and rediscover it. Interactive stations show how learning can be designed as a research-based, creative and dialogical process. The focus is on trying things out, observing, reflecting and exchanging ideas with each other. The activities encourage visitors to ask questions, gain their own experiences and learn about different approaches to learning. They are aimed at children, young people and adults and show how education can be designed to be curious, practical and future-oriented.

In dialogue with research

The stations at PH NÖ open up a wide range of approaches to education, science and social issues. Visitors discover mathematical connections, explore scientific phenomena, experiment with materials and engage with sustainable, aesthetic and educational perspectives. Between questions and answers, space is created for new ideas. Research thrives where people come together to think about the future. Curiosity knows no age. Answers arise where questions are asked and futures are shaped together – during the Long Night of Research.
