Aim
The lecture deals with the linguistic analysis, the communicatively appropriate use and the teaching of standard and educational language structures of German at school. Students learn about communicative, linguistic and argumentative standards for academic writing and teaching in schools and reflect on linguistic diversity and language change. They acquire the skills to be language role models and linguistically competent companions for their students in a multilingual and heterogeneous society.

- are able to name specific characteristics of German in comparison to other languages of a multilingual and heterogeneous society
- can use examples to explain the historical changeability, mutual influence and internal multilingualism of languages (e.g. dialects, sociolects) and sensitise students to the language-conscious avoidance of linguistic discrimination
- are able to analyse orthographic and grammatical structures and - especially in the context of German as a second language - act as a language role model and language mediator
- know the characteristics of educational and technical language texts and conversations
- can take educational and technical language standards into account in conversations and texts
- can take into account basic principles of logic in school and academic contexts and argue comprehensibly
