Aim
Students develop an awareness and sensitivity for structural backgrounds in the participation of children with a migration background in physical education and sports lessons. By recognising social barriers and cultural differences, the subject of physical activity and sport can make a contribution to inclusion. Students are aware of the importance of intercultural learning settings in the field of physical activity and sport for reducing prejudices and fear of contact.
Content
- Perspectives on the mediation of intercultural physical activity and sports education, especially for those areas of educational reality that are subject to particular influence from the expectations and norms of society or individual institutions or groups
- Developments in the areas of migration, globalisation and intercultural learning
- Intercultural sports programmes in and out of school
- Didactic options and aspects of specific teaching
- Reduction of prejudices and socialisation of children with a migration background through exercise and sport
- Tolerance, peaceful conflict management and violence prevention in and through exercise and sport

Graduates ...
- develop an attitude that sees cultural diversity as a rich and diverse world that enhances individual choices, enriches human capabilities and values and is the main driving force for the sustainable development of communities, peoples and nations (cf. UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions)
- know possibilities for movement-orientated teaching concepts in intercultural exchange, have the necessary language skills in English as a living foreign language and know suitable CLIL strategies to guide participatory and intercultural sporting activities
- are familiar with school and extracurricular intercultural sports programmes
- are able to organise physical activity and sports lessons in a diversity- and gender-sensitive and anti-discriminatory way
- are able to organise physical activity and sports lessons as a means of resolving conflicts peacefully and preventing violence.
