Aim

Students develop an awareness and sensitivity for structural backgrounds in the participation of children with a migration background in physical education and sports lessons. By recognising social barriers and cultural differences, the subject of physical activity and sport can make a contribution to inclusion. Students are aware of the importance of intercultural learning settings in the field of physical activity and sport for reducing prejudices and fear of contact.

  • Perspectives on the mediation of intercultural physical activity and sports education, especially for those areas of educational reality that are subject to particular influence from the expectations and norms of society or individual institutions or groups
  • Developments in the areas of migration, globalisation and intercultural learning
  • Intercultural sports programmes in and out of school
  • Didactic options and aspects of specific teaching
  • Reduction of prejudices and socialisation of children with a migration background through exercise and sport
  • Tolerance, peaceful conflict management and violence prevention in and through exercise and sport
