The aim of the Erasmus+ programme is not only to raise participants' awareness of sustainability, climate change and environmental protection, but also to reduce the ecological footprint generated by mobility abroad.
In order to encourage students to choose a resource-saving method of travelling, a green top-up for sustainable travel of EUR 50 is paid out for Erasmus+-funded internships abroad in addition to the regular Erasmus+ grant.
The prerequisite for this is that participants use a low-emission means of transport classified as sustainable by the Erasmus+ programme for their journey to their host country and/or their return journey (at least 50% of the outward and/or return journey). In addition, the funding period of the regular Erasmus+ scholarship can be extended by up to four days if participants demonstrably need more time for their outward and/or return journey due to the use of a sustainable means of transport.
Applications can be submitted all year round (at least 6 weeks before the start of the internship)
Bachelor's students: from the 3rd semester
Master's students: after 1st semester
